When Samsung released the Samsung B7610 OmniaPRO keyboard phones, or rather known as Samsung QWERTY, into the market, it drew so many onlookers, as clearly, Samsung doesn’t come up with many slider-type smartphones. Generally, the Samsung B7610 OmniaPRO at first glance looks like a keyboard-less smartphone without a keyboard, but at closer look, you can definitely slide the miniature keyboard out from underneath the keyboard phone. Well here are the specifications for the Samsung B7610 OmniaPRO keyboard phones: Samsung B7610 OmniaPROSupported Networks: 2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 3G Network HSDPA 900 / 2100 Availability: Announced on 2009, June Available in the market. Generally, this particular phone functions just like any other PDAs in the market, and when you get tired using the touchscreen display, you can always slide out the keyboard from underneath the phone and use it to input your texts into the phone. On the other hand, I also like the 3.5-inch display that has 16M colors. There are not many phone manufacturers which provide so much color for their displays, as majority of these manufacturers are still using the 65K and 256K color screens, which are cheaper to produce I suppose. Also, the display is actually an AMOLED display with 800x480 pixel resolution, which I think is pretty superior by its standards. Also, the Samsung B7610 OmniaPRO keyboard phones are powered by Samsung’s 800 MHz processor with dedicated graphics accelerator. Other than the Snapdragon processor, this particular processor is pretty powerful for its standards in the market. And with a dedicated graphics accelerator, you can expect this particular phone to offer you crisp and smooth 3D images. For the storage, I believe that Samsung is pretty generous to offer 2GB of built-in storage. This gives you the flexibility of further expanding the existing storage or not. 2GB is pretty sufficient for above moderate usages. Also, if you think that 2GB is not enough, you can further expand the memory to 32GB via the microSD slot. The B7610 OmniaPRO keyboard phones are also powered by the Windows Mobile 6.5. And best of all, Samsung placed their personalized touch on the skin of the operating system, simply by incorporating something called the TouchWiz UI. Well if you are a hardcore Windows user, I believe that you will get yourself familiarized with the phone pretty quickly. However, the Samsung B7610 OmniaPRO is pretty bulky, whereby it might not be comfortable for smaller palms. On the other hand, the display doesn’t really perform very well under sunlight conditions. Furthermore, it seems that the microSD slot is underneath the battery cover, which makes it rather inconvenient for you to hot-swap it. Also, the keyboard phone does not come with SatNav software, no voice dialing, no web Flash support and no stereo speakers. Still if you love Windows Mobile platform for your phone, you should definitely get the Samsung B7610 OmniaPRO keyboard phones. ![]() |
